REGISTRATION FOR 2023 SPRING SEASON opens in January

Lake Forest Lacrosse Association ("LFLA") will offer teams and training for youth players of every skill level from Grades K-8 with training by the top coaching staff in the region with paid coaches for each team.  
 
REGISTRATION for the 2023 SPRING SEASON IS OPEN! 
 
All COVID-19 protocols will be followed and the safety of everyone involved is our top priority.
LEARN-2-LAX-4-JACK FOR GRADES K-1
  • Learn-2-LAX-4-Jack ("L2L4J") -- For our youngest players who are looking to learn the sport in a safe, fun environment, with two weekly practices.  L2L4J will be run by our top coaches, with one hour practices scheduled at Townline Park starting April 17th.  The season ends with the semi-annual Lax Jamboree in late May.

  • Due to the incredible generosity of the family of Jack Adams, we are able to offer Learn-2-LAX-4-Jack for boys residing in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff only for just $50, including all equipment required for new players! Let's Grow the Game!!

COMPETITIVE TEAMS FOR GRADES 2ND THRU 8TH
  • For players looking for the most competitive Spring lacrosse teams that focus on developing lacrosse skills and IQ.   Pre-season outdoor training / evaluations take place in March at Lake Forest Academy with Spring outdoor training resuming in April at Townline Park.

    • 14U will train thrice weekly from 6-7:30 pm starting April 3rd (pre-season training will be twice weekly TBD starting in early March). The teams will participate in the IBLA season and state playoffs, as well as, compete at Rip the Duck (April 29th - 30th in South Bend, IN) for all teams.  "A" teams will compete at the Carmel LAX Invitational (May 6th - 7th in Carmel, IN) and may travel out of state for another competition.  "B" teams will compete at Border Wars (May 6th - 7th in Oak Brook, IL) and possibly in the Illinois Youth Lacrosse League;

    • 12U will train thrice weekly from 6-7:30 pm starting April 3rd (pre-season training will be twice weekly TBD starting in early March). The teams will participate in the IBLA season and state playoffs, as well as, compete at Rip the Duck (April 29th - 30th in South Bend, IN) and will compete at the Carmel LAX Invitational (May 6th - 7th in Carmel, IN).

    • 10U will train twice weekly from 6-7:30 pm starting April 3rd (pre-season training will be twice weekly TBD starting in early March).  The teams will participate in the IBLA season and state playoffs, as well as, compete at Rip the Duck (April 29th -30th in South Bend, IN),  Border Wars (May 6th - 7th in Oak Brook, IL) and possibly in the Illinois Youth Lacrosse League;

    • 8U will train twice weekly from 5-6:00 pm starting April 3rd (pre-season training will be twice weekly TBD pm starting in early March).  The team will participate in the IBLA season and state playoffs, as well as, compete at Border Wars (May 6th - 7th in Oak Brook, IL) and possibly in the Illinois Youth Lacrosse League;

    • There may be additional organized scrimmages with other community programs TBD.

  • To all parents and players:

    • Every player must be registered to attend winter training and play in the spring season;

    • Teams are grade based and all players must be registered accordingly;

    • Player will be evaluated in March for rostering and attendance is mandatory to be considered for "A" teams

    • Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before every practice and 45 minutes before every game with your pads on and ready to go:

    • Playing time is not guaranteed: coaches will work to develop players during practice, but will play to win games;

    • Quality, consistent  effort in practice will translate into increased game time;

    • Full-time goalies will be offered a fee discount.

LOVE-2-LAX at THE LAKE FOREST REC DEPARTMENT (no travel)
  • With the support and on-field assistant coaching from LFLA, Lake Forest Rec Department will manage and implement this clinic-based program in the spring each season.  This program is designed for the athletes that don't desire the competition and / or commitment of a travel league experience.  Led by professional LFRD Staff, this program will emphasize FUN.  Fundamental skill development will also be emphasized through drill work and honed through small group games and scrimmage play.  This program will meet once a week for 90 minutes and will be broken up into grade specific groups.  Athletes will receive a reversible jersey, but athletes will need to supply their own equipment, including a helmet, mouth guard, lacrosse gloves, lacrosse stick, elbow pads, shoulder pads, protective cup and cleats.
